CIH Equipment Company provides a CCL registered traceable calibration service for sound level meters, calibrators, octave filters and noise dosimeters. Sound level meters are widely used in the measurement of occupational and environmental noise and many measurement method standards and documents, both national and international, give recommendations on suitable equipment for noise measurement and on the need for its calibration.
CIH Equipment provides a CCL accredited acoustical calibration service for many makes and models of sound level meters. The calibration is based on a sequential comparison performed against a laboratory standard microphone in CIH's anechoic chamber. The calibration generally covers frequencies from 31.5 Hz to 12.5 kHz and has a typical uncertainty of 0.2 dB. A Certificate of Calibration giving the response of the meter relative to true sound pressure level is issued - allowing traceability to national standards to be demonstrated.
