NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) is an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce. NIST is responsible for developing, maintaining and disseminating national standards - realizations of the SI - for the basic measurement quantities, and for many derived measurement quantities. NIST is also responsible for assessing the measurement uncertainties associated with the values assigned to these measurement standards. As such, the concept of measurement traceability is central to NIST's mission. NIST's customers frequently ask questions about traceability and about NIST's role in traceability. It is not always obvious what NIST's role is in helping other organizations establish traceability of their measurement results to standards developed and maintained by NIST.

CIH Equipment Company uses in-house developed proprietary processes which have been developed and maintained by our technical staff and laboratory management. In many cases, this calibration practice exceeds the manufactures calibration processes. All processes are NIST traceable.

If you are outside our delivery area, you can ship your equipment to us via UPS, FedEx or any other carrier you so choose. Make sure you include a copy of your work order, with your contact information in every package you ship. Our receiving department will contact you once the equipment is received and processed.

Yes, one of our customer services representatives will contact you after the equipment has been evaluated. You will be provided with an estimate, and a approval form prior to any repair work that may be needed.

ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and A2LA accredited laboratory, and ANSI Z540-1 compliant, means that a comprehensive assessment has been conducted by The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). This assessment addresses the competence of the staff, an inspection of the facility, a review of calibration procedures, analysis of traceability and an appraisal of the processes used by the laboratory as well as the calibration equipment. This accreditation is used to distinguish calibration, repair and testing laboratories to verify their competence to carry out calibration services.

Yes, we will send you a “Calibration Reminder Notice” approximately a month prior to the calibration due date.

If your company does not have payment terms with CIH, credit card payment is required. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Please contact the accounting department to setup terms for PO’s if you require terms.
